Terms & conditions

These terms apply to the English lessons that I, Nicole Ferreira, an English teacher, give in Braga. By booking a lesson or buying a package, you accept these terms.

1. Lessons

• All lessons are one-to-one and last 60 minutes.
• Lessons take place in person, at Avenida da Liberdade 615, Braga.
• Online lessons are an exception, agreed on a case-by-case basis, when the student’s schedule does not allow an in-person lesson.

2. Trial lesson

The first lesson is free and carries no obligation to buy a package.

3. Packages and prices

• Packages consist of 2, 3 or 5 lessons a week over 3, 6 or 12 months. A single lesson costs €20 per hour.
• Current prices are those published on the Services & pricing page.
• The prices shown do not include VAT.
• With the couples package, two people buy the same package and each has their own one-to-one lessons, with a discount of €1 per hour each, down to a minimum price of €15 per hour.

4. Payment

• The monthly fee is fixed and based on an average of 4.33 weeks per month. It is paid at the start of each month, before that month’s lessons.
• Single lessons are paid for on the day.
• If a payment is late, lessons may be suspended until it is settled.

5. Missed lessons and rescheduling

• Lessons cancelled at least 24 hours in advance are rescheduled within the following four weeks, at a time we agree.
• Lessons missed without notice, or with less than 24 hours’ notice, count as taken.
• If I cancel a lesson, it is always rescheduled or deducted from the next monthly fee.

6. Pauses and holidays

Students can pause their package for up to four weeks a year, with at least one week’s notice. The package is extended by the same period and no fee is charged for the paused weeks.

7. Cancellation

• Students can cancel their package at any time by giving 30 days’ notice.
• In that case, the hourly price of the lessons already taken is adjusted to that of the package matching the time completed (or to the single-lesson price, if that time is less than three months), and the difference is settled in the final monthly payment.
• If a student moves away, has a long-term illness or is affected by other circumstances beyond their control (force majeure), I will always look for a solution that is fair to both of us.

8. Changes

These terms and the prices may be updated. Price changes do not affect packages that have already been purchased, for the remainder of their term.
