Privacy policy

Who I am

I am Nicole Ferreira, an English teacher based in Braga, Portugal, and I am the data controller for your personal data. If you have any questions about privacy, email me at email.

This website collects no personal data

  • It has no forms, user accounts or members’ area.
  • It uses no cookies, analytics or advertising tools.
  • Fonts and images are served by the site itself, with no third-party services.

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). Like any web host, GitHub may log technical access data, such as IP addresses, for security purposes. GitHub is responsible for that processing, which is described in the GitHub Privacy Statement.

When you contact me

If you contact me on WhatsApp or by email, I receive the data you choose to share (for example, your name, phone number, email address and message). I use it only to:

  • reply to you and book lessons;
  • manage lessons and payments, if you become a student.

The legal basis is the need to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and the performance of our contract for lessons. I do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

These services (WhatsApp and my email provider) have their own privacy policies.

How long I keep your data

The contact details of people who do not go on to take lessons are deleted after 12 months. Student data is kept for as long as lessons continue and, after that, only for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to ask for access to your data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a portable format and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email me at the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

Changes

If this policy changes, I will publish the new version on this page, together with the date it was updated.
